Our Story
Before Coast2Hills Creations had a name, it was simply just us; grandparents creating things for our family that we couldn’t find in stores.
We are a husband-and-wife team based in North Carolina, and our journey into 3D printing started the way most good things do; with a problem we wanted to solve. We were looking for toys that kept little hands busy, tools that solved small frustrations, and gifts that felt more personal than anything sitting on a store shelf. When we couldn’t find exactly what we needed, we decided to make it ourselves.
The heart of that drive was for our grandchildren Watching them grow and experience the world, especially our autistic grandchildren, gave us a deeper appreciation for how much the small things matter. The right toy for a sensory-seeking child isn’t really about the toy. It’s about what it unlocks: focus, calm, play, comfort. That understanding became a big part of the foundation for everything we make.
What started as a hobby for helping our family quickly became something we couldn’t put down. We spent evenings experimenting with new designs, learning through trial and error, and with a little bit of encouragement from friends and family, we finally decided to share these creations with the world.
We began selling at local markets across the area, and something clicked. Everyday people would stop by our booth and describe what they’d been looking for, and more often than not, it was the same kind of thing we’d already been making for our own home. We weren’t alone in wanting something more thoughtful than what the larger corporations were offering.
We run this business on three things: family, honesty and quality. We’ll always be straight with you about what we make, why we make it, and how we make it. If we wouldn’t spend our own money on it, it won’t ship.
Every item is 3D printed in-house using only quality materials, inspected carefully, and made with the same standard we would expect for our own family.
The name Coast2Hills tells you something about who we are. We grew up near the coast and now we’re building our life in the hills of North Carolina; always innovating, always making, never settling for “close enough”. We do this because we love it, and because we’ve seen what happens when an idea is turned into something real and meaningful.
